Spring Training in Arizona

Mike Meier had the opportunity to join a group in Arizona for some great spring training.  Here's what he had to say about it.

Had some pretty awesome rides in Arizona with the Hoags and crew. Total of 7 riders for the 4 days that I was there. Had trouble with my go pro for most of the time, however I was able to record a short clip below. We had climbed Kitt Peak which was around 12 miles of steady climbing and the elevation was 7200ft. The climb took about 2 hours but I really can’t remember much since I was in like zone 10 for that climb.
The descent was a bit sketchy at times with pretty stiff cross winds. After we got to the bottom we headed back to the house.  We had an unbelievable direct tailwind and we were pace lining at an average speed of 40mph. we were coasting at times!. That lasted a few miles then the rains came. All and all a great group of guys and a blast for sure.

  1. Thats crazy riding a bike on a road with a posted speed limit of 65, the one guy from bike zone needs to lower his saddle, his hips rock side to side and he bounces up and down in the saddle.

    1. The guy from the bike zone would tear your legs off and beat you with them.

  3. Mike I just did the math from your video for the non-believers, mile marker 136 @:30; mile marker 137 @2:02 that is 39.13 mph for the mile. Not bad for a bunch of old geezers. Especially after climbing Kitt. We had that tailwind off the same ride a couple years ago - that is some fun stuff. Wish I could have been there. Nice Riding! CR.
